Pserimos - a small island in the Dodecanese archipelago between Kalymnos and Kos |
|
|
Pserimos is a small island with some outside anchorages,
which are useful for daytime enjoyment only, and one small bay, that
covers from Western and Northern winds. There are a few Tavernas in
summer only along the sandy beach, which is full of people only during
the daytime, when the daytrippers come over from Kos island and Kalmnos,
but empty after the dayboats left.
A real estate developer is offering constructions, hoping, that some people enjoy the tranquility of the island, but oversees, that when all these people are here, tranquility will surely be gone...
In
August 2007 the small quai, which was always packed with dayboats,
was extended and gives better shelter
now to southern winds.
Daily boat captains react not very patient and friendly when private boats block their mooringplaces, so better avoid dropping ypour anchor there between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
A ferryboat pier was constructed and some more mooring places with utility , if water and electric will beconnected, is unknown yet.

the former fishermen´s quai is still in use, but during the daytime, dayboats are moord there as well.
when you arrive from East/southeast, or leave in this direction (to Kos), be aware of the very dangerous cliffs about 1,5 nm outside the Pserimos bay, which are very hidden and could be dangerous, when sailing too close to the coast - the cliffs are about 500 m (1/2 cable length) from the shore!
The next islands to sail to are Kos or Kalymnos |
